#8 The Big House, Boulder, Colorado

The Big House (pieced by Marj Powley, because this was really, really hard. Be very careful not to come anywhere near this square with an iron!)
What an adventure! Perched on the top of a steep hill, next to the Boulder Chautauqua meadow, it was a big glass blur of inconvenience. Lindsay loved hauling her laundry up several flights of slippery stairs, and always stepping in the wet pebbles around the SUV-sized boulder in the dining room that they made into a fountain. We will always remember Lindsay telling the builder that the fountain/boulder “smelled like the minnow bucket in the bait shop.” Lindsay and her girls are looking out the kitchen window, where they sat on the island and planned their mischief:  Allison Wood, Lindsay, Anna Sergeeva, Kristin Rothweiler, and Sophie Wolf. Jordan Mitchell lived in the guest house with Tanner Bennett. Adam Mitchell spent a summer as Lindsay’s neighbor in the guest suites in the main house, using their phones as flashlights and sneaking in and out all night. Lindsay got to know her step brothers much better that year. Adam and Jordan are in a window, as are Mom and Alan. Pepper is there, along with all those mountain lions. Mom sang show tunes to warn the mountain lions that she was coming down the hill to get the newspaper...

It's hard to see, because of the shiny (glass-ish) fabric...
